Social notworking

The widespread – and in the current economic climate, potencially career-killing – practice of wasting as much of the working day as possible on social networking websites. The rise of notworking is largely due to the invention of tabbed browsing, which enables fast flicking to important-looking work-related websites when the boss appears.

Source: The article is taken from “Jargon buster” section in Windows Magazine, Issue September 2009.

p.s. If editors of this site are reading this, I hope it’s ok to use the article (I did mention the respected source). And, guys, get your words on the Twitter!

p.p.s. All readers here should be aware of the boss, he/she might be lurking at you as right now.

Note to myself – read again the “p.p.s.”
